Collaboration with TalTech: Primostar Supports Future Engineers
Primostar x Tallinn University of Technology

Did you know that Primostar works closely with TalTech, contributing to education and innovation in the construction industry? One area of cooperation is supervising master's theses, where Primostar CEO Indrek Uusalu supervises students. As part of this collaboration, we encourage students to use WPM® products and solutions in their work and provide practical experience and support in applying modern waterproofing technologies.

Primostar's product range has previously been featured in many master theses, but Indrek has served as a supervisor twice. The subject of the first master's thesis was “Exploring and Comparing Waterproofing Materials for Flat Roof Membranes and Joints in Monolithic Reinforced Concrete Structures, ” and the recent master's thesis, defended in December 2024, was on the topic “WATERPROOFING OF CONSTRUCTION JOINTS IN CONCRETE STRUCTURES.” As part of the work, the student carried out consistent tests in the Primostar warehouse to evaluate the water resistance of the concrete construction joints. The tests used various solutions, including metal sheet waterstops construction profiles, expanding joints, and injection resin. This practical master's thesis contributed to the waterproofing of concrete structures and confirmed the effectiveness and 15 Bar compressive strength of the Primostar construction joint profile solution.

Primostar's lecture for Taltech students (06.03.2023)

Primostar's goal has always been to combine theory and practice to contribute to the development of the construction industry and ensure that future specialists are well-prepared for real-world challenges. In collaboration with TalTech, we also organize lectures where Indrek can share his knowledge of sustainable and innovative waterproofing solutions for underground concrete structures.

Such collaboration provides students with valuable practical experience, supports the development of the research field, and brings the entire construction sector closer to more innovative and sustainable solutions.

Together, we can shape the future's high-quality, durable construction culture, which will inspire the next generation.
